Exfoliating & Why It’s Key In Skin Health

Here’s a great way to visualize why we should exfoliate…

Think about repainting a dresser, you can totally just grab some paint and get it done but without sloughing off the old layers you will be left with crevices, dirt & debris under a messy paint job. You’re much better off cleaning & scrubbing the surface to allow the new paint to go on smoothly. This is exactly what exfoliating your skin is like, improving the appearance of texture & skin tone for fresh, glowing skin!

Benefits of Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are the secret to perfect skin and now is the time. Fall is here and the harsh summer sun is a thing of the past.

What can a peel do for your skin?

In minutes, acids lift away dead cells triggering an amazing chain reaction. As the top layer of skin is shed, the living cells below are multiplying and moving up increasing collagen production. A peel will result in smoother skin that's both more radiant and more receptive.

What Order Do I Apply My Skin Care Products?

Does sequence matter?

Yes, it does! Applying products in the proper order ensures that each product builds on the other increasing your skin regimen results.

The Fern Technique!

Starting 2020 right...

If you follow me on Instagram then you know, I've been traveling this month learning from the best in the country and internationally.

Earlier this month, I flew to DC to train with Erika Barry, NP and Waseem Garbia, PA-C both of whom have over 10 years of experience in the industry with vast knowledge.

Then, this week, I had the honor and priviledge to learn from Dr. Tom Van Eijk from Amsterdam! What a treat that was learning the "fern technique" which I'm convinced will revolutionize my practice! Lots of more trainings in the works to come, but know that I plan on continuing to grow and learn to be the very best for each of you!

Take Care of your Winter Skin

Take Care of your Winter Skin

Cold dry air along with low humidity will cause your skin to dry out. When the air outside is cold and dry, the water in your skin evaporates more quickly; this makes your skin feel dry and tight and makes it look flaky. In fact, your skin loses more than 25 percent of its ability to hold moisture in the winter. Windy weather (especially if you enjoy winter sports) can also beat down on your skin and make it look and feel dry and chapped. Some of my patients refer to this condition as "winter skin.”

MicroBotox in San Antonio!

What is Microbotox?

Microbotox is the injection of multiple microdroplets of diluted toxin into the dermis, the second layer. It’s a unique technique invented by Dr. Wu to decrease sweat and sebaceous gland activity. It also improves skin texture and sheen. By placing the toxin on the dermis layer instead of the muscular layer like a regular toxin, it works to also improve the wrinkles formed at rest. For the treatment of the lower face and neck, hundreds of microdroplets of diluted Botox are injected into the dermis or immediate subdermal plane to improve skin texture, smoothen horizontal creases, and decrease vertical banding of the neck, as well as to achieve better apposition of the platysma to the jawline and neck, improving contouring of the cervicomental angle.
